The MPS Society Celebrates their 30th Anniversary, 24th March 2012

On 24th March 2012 and on behalf of Save Babies UK, I was invited to attend an event at the Palace of Westminster to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the MPS Society.

The Chief Executive of the MPS Society, Christine Lavery, is a member of the UK PANS Group and the UK LSD Collaborative and has always been very supportive of Save Babies UK, particularly in sharing her expertise and giving advice in the early days of establishing our own Charity. I was therefore very pleased to be invited to the event and to help celebrate their success.

Both patient representatives and Trustees spoke of the significant support given to MPS families and the phenomenal amount of money they had been able to raise to support research over the past 30 years. Listening to what was possible to achieve over time gave me great hope for Save Babies UK. Scientists, Clinicians, Families and Trustees working together with a common aim really can move mountains and the MPS Society has ably demonstrated this. I wish them every success for the next 30 years.
